We’re a performance running headwear brand. Our origins were developed in the world’s toughest races and harshest environments on the planet. It is athlete led performance headwear built to go the distance, whether you are chasing podiums, Fastest Known Times (FKT’s), personal challenges/goals or just generally out adventuring. Jon Shield
Jon has taken on some of the UK’s toughest races, The Montane Spine races (including the Full Arctic version) The Dragon’s Back, Cape Wrath and Ultra Trail Snowdonia. He has also raced overseas becoming the first person to win all four races in Beyond the Ultimate’s Global Race Series - brutal self-sufficient multi-stage races across the Arctic, Jungle, Desert, and Mountains - Jon knows what it takes to perform in the most savage conditions on Earth. These races gave him first-hand experience how vital the right headwear is, this sparked the desire to create The Pain Cave. What began as a personal need evolved into a brand: durable, performance-led headwear designed to withstand whatever nature throws your way. Every piece is made with premium materials, built to last.
